A Bit About Me
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and immigrated to America at age ten. I currently live in California with my wife and our two daughters, enjoying the weather and this incredible creative culture--but not so much the cost of living!
I've been in pastoral ministry for 20+ years--a huge portion in the Asian American church. I am currently the discipleship and formation pastor at WestGate Church, a multi-ethnic, multisite church in the heart of Silicon Valley. Our church exists to learn and live the way of Jesus. With all the challenges to discipleship in this cultural moment, we believe it is of utmost importance to rethink discipleship pathways and "one-size-fits-all" models to a more holistic framework.
I am also the author of Made to Belong: Five Practices for Cultivating Community in a Disconnected World (February 7th, 2023, HarperCollins/Nelson) and A Kids Book About Change.
In terms of education, I am a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a M.Div. and Th.M in Theology and Culture. Thanks for stopping by and if any of my work interest you, I would love to hear from you!
