My name is David.

I was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to the states when I was a kid. After spending most of my formative years in NYC & Boston, receiving B.A. from Gordon College, M.Div & Th.M from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, I now live in Silicon Valley with my wife Nina and two girls-Skylar & Zoey, enjoying the weather & creative culture (not so much the cost of living!).

It is impossible to do life alone.  But we interact with difficult people all the time.  We've all been hurt or have hurt others.  This is why I'm so passionate about building teams that work.  We all must explore why we do what we do and learn a better way forward with vulnerability, emotional strength, kindness and courage.  As a certified Enneagram Teacher in Silicon Valley, I offer workshops to help individuals and teams grow in self & others awareness.

Change is a frequent human experience and positive change is what every individual, teams and organizations strive towards.  But often, humans resist or or don't deal with change well.  I recently published A Kids Book About Change, a book to help kids (start early!) talk and process all the changes that are happening in their lives with grownups in their lives.

I am also the discipleship pastor at WestGate Church, and our community's mission is to grow in love for God, one another and the world.  But it is easier said than done.  Sadly, the global church has not modeled that well and my hope is to create pathways where people can experience healing & redemption, and learn to grow in giving and receiving love as we follow Jesus.

I am an ENTJ in MBTI, Enneagram 3 & have Achiever, Input, Learner, Activator and Competition as my Strength Finder's Top 5.

In a world where competition, hostility, anxiety, busyness and material success reigns,  I teach frequently on the integration of spiritual and emotional health, soul care, relationships and self-awareness.

So that's a little bit of my story and what I love to do.  I hope to connect with you in a meaningful way!
