A Bit About Me
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and immigrated to America at age ten. I currently live in California with my wife and our two daughters, enjoying the weather and this incredible creative culture--but not so much the cost of living!
I am a follower of Jesus and I serve as the discipleship and formation pastor at WestGate Church, a multi-ethnic, multisite church in the heart of Silicon Valley. I also serve as an executive board member of Mustard Seed Generation, a mental health nonprofit providing resources for the Korean American community's healing & well-being.
I am also the author of Made to Belong: Five Practices for Cultivating Community in a Disconnected World and A Kids Book About Change.
In terms of education, I am a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a M.Div. and Th.M in Theology and Culture. I care deeply about the intersection of spiritual formation, theology, mental health and the cultivation of authentic Christian communities.
Thanks for stopping by and if any of my work interest you, I would love to hear from you!
